Everyone struggles with life and feels “down” from time to time, regardless of age, gender, or circumstances. I am currently approaching my 50s and with over years of experience in the field of counselling, I’m confident that no problem is too great to overcome.
I am trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy for couple work, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), empirically-supported psychological treatments for adult acute stress disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
My practice specializes in treating depression, anxiety, relationship issues, divorce, infidelity, stress, traumas, PTSD, anger issues, grief and loss, and more.
I offer professional counseling for international ex-pat and local Malaysian clients. Services including individual counseling, couple counseling, family counseling, and online counseling.
My Approach to Helping
Embarking on a journey in counseling is not always easy, but I believe and have witnessed the difference it can make. One of the aspects of my work that I enjoy is being able to celebrate successes as you progress toward your goals. As a counsellor, my role is to support, inspire, challenge and motivate my clients in a safe and confidential environment. Through continuous supervision and keeping up with the latest research, I ensure that I provide my best service to clients while adhering to ethical standards of therapy.
“Everyone is destined to experience not only the exhilaration of life, but also it inevitable darkness: disillusionment, aging, illness, loss, meaninglessness, painful choices, and death? We are all in this together and there is no person immune to the inherent tragedies of existence. ” – (Irvin Yalom, 2002)
In addition to providing professional counseling, Faith Foo is also an author of motivational books for both adults and children. She weaves her advice through relatable anecdotes, parallels to real life, and metaphors as well as allegories both amusing and poignant.

Specific Issue (s) I am Skilled at Helping With
My work frequently leads me to clients with issues related to major life events; eg. marriage issues, divorce, break-ups, financial crises, health issues, quarter or mid-life crises, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), mood disorders, traumas, depression, anxiety, work-related stress, anger issues, blended family issues, grief and loss, lack of self-esteem and career guidance.
I have been privileged to work with a variety of clients ranging from young adults to the elderly, from diverse racial, social and economic backgrounds, including locals and expatriates.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I have personally experienced change and transformation through counseling and psychotherapy. I marvel at the process of change. With that, I would like to reach out to help and assist individuals to experience the change process.
Nevertheless, change is not an easy process. Exploring and discovering oneself can be painful, that we experience wanting to give up in the journey. But it is only in experiencing pain that opens the way for healing and change to take place. Just like how a caterpillar metamorphose into a butterfly. This is how I see my clients transform.
